Bring your trophy in frozen if you can. We log it, take measurements and photos, and talk through pose and any alterations you want.
You pick basic or premium here. You leave with a written quote and an estimated completion date — set against the season and how busy the shop is.
The cape is skinned, fleshed, and prepped for tanning. This is where the two tiers split. On a basic mount the hide may go to an outside tannery, and that wait is most of the timeline. On a premium mount it's processed in-house, start to finish.
Skulls are cleaned in-shop by maceration and degreasing.
Once the hide is ready, the shop work begins. The cape goes on the form, ears are set, eyes are placed, and the seam is sewn and hidden.
Then the finishing — eyes, tear ducts, nose, lips, ears, painted by hand. Basic or premium, every mount gets the same finish work.
We let you know when your mount is ready and photograph the finished piece. The balance is due at completion.
Cards are welcome with no fee on jobs up to $2,000; 3% above that. Pickup is in Christopher, IL.
